“And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law.” Many believe Paul was the greatest change-agent the world has ever seen. In evangelism, a change-agent is someone who works in the context of another culture to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who’ve never heard it. Some use Paul’s address at Mars Hill as justification for compromising the message of the Gospel to make it acceptable to all cultures. Was this Paul’s approach? Did Paul contextualize the Gospel?

How do we minister to people who’ve never heard the Gospel before? This video warns against over-contextualizing the Gospel to the point that its message is compromised. We cannot “adapt” the Gospel to the point that it becomes ineffective and doesn’t call people out of their context to a new beginning with Christ, but instead, allows them to stay where they are without making the changes required to live in accordance with the will of God. This kind of “contextualization” is not Biblical evangelism and it’s not Paul’s method of evangelism.

Learn about the Biblical method of evangelism – Paul’s method of evangelism – in this presentation.
